Jersey is part of the channel Islands located just off the coast of
France, part of the UK but not subject to British Parliament or UK Tax Laws.
We were invited to our friend’s daughters wedding and decided to make a holiday of it. We arrive just as the sun was setting above the clouds, this was a beautiful welcome to the Island. the first few days were spent helping our friend with the arrangements and the entertaining, there was so much to do the reception was held in a Marquee on the top a cliff with views in two directions over the north coast. The day of the wedding arrived and as you can see I was ready to photograph anything!
The wedding was held in St Helier the capital of Jersey and transport for the Bride and groom was a Tuc-Tuc, this is a motorized rick-shaw which is the brain child of the groom!
Here it is with the Bride and attendants relaxing in the sunshine, for more info on these wonderful vehicles go to http://www.tuctuc.co.uk/
The rest of the guests were transported to the reception by vintage coach, and here are the happy couple. The Wedding Breakfast was followed by a Barn Dance and the festivities went on well into the night.
So back to being tourists on the beautiful Island of Jersey , we visited gardens at Badgers End which are occasionally open in aid of Children in Need, We also took several walks along the coast and five mile beach. Jersey is a lovely holiday destination, I hope I have brought it alive for you Please look in the photo album for lots more pictures.
And here is the star of the holiday BERTIE
I hope I have inspired you to put Jersey on your list of places to go!
