OFFICE CHRISTMAS PARTY
Yesterday was the Christmas party for the surveyors and support staff of a well known company which shall be nameless.
The blog is for party goers to see how much they enjoyed themselves, as they probably won’t remember
Anybody who reads my space will remember that we had a leaving party for Chris, well he couldn’t stay away – we have asked him to return his leaving present, but he hasn’t done so yet
To all my MSN friends please bare with me on this one, normal service will be resumed as soon as possible

It is that time of the year. . . Christmas parties and New Year Parties. They are called "bonenkai" in Japanese which literally means "forget last year" party (which actually means "let’s all have a fresh start next year).

Thought I would come by and see how you are.
I went to lunch with a few girls today (one of whom is from England). This English friend said that she believes that a dry measure cup is equal to a 1/4 lb. I can’t confirm this, but we use a dry measure cup (for flour, sugar and such) which is usually leveled across the top with a knife and a liquid measure cup which has the ounces (8oz for a full cup of liquid) written on the side for anything fluid. She told me how you measure everything by weight. I do understand your dilemma though, she once gave me a cookbook by the Naked Cheif (jamie) and I couldn’t make heads nor tails out of some of the measuring terms! Good luck anyway…

Hi Suki, all the best for Christmas and the new year. Re your query about sprouts, it is probably the variety that is different from the shop bought ones. I believe that the smaller ones, sometimes called button sprouts have a better flavour. On the other hand the commercially grown sprouts will have a load of nitrogen fertiliser put on them, it makes them grow, but does nothing to aid flavour. If the ground is frozen, do not bother digging them up, use a sharp knife and cut the the stem just above the ground and take the stork home. (Sprouts on the vine).
